When the Day Arrives

We know that when the day comes, you will want everything to run smoothly so you can concentrate on family and friends during the funeral. Bare & Torrisholme Funeral Services are here to make sure that things go as smoothly as possible.

What to Expect on the Day of the Funeral

We want you to feel fully confident and at ease with the arrangements on the day, so you can be with your family and friends during this distressing time. We will keep good time, so pickups and arrivals are on schedule and not leaving you worrying. We will always inform you if there are any issues or delays whilst, in most cases also explaining the solution so you have nothing to worry about.

The Morning

In the morning, we will arrive at the destination from where the funeral cortege will be leaving. This time will already be agreed by yourself and you will be fully aware of when to expect us so you can pass the information on to other family members if they wish to join the back of the cortege. We will always look to greet you on arrival to be sure that everything is in order. We will update you at this point if there is a change needed to be made to the route or times because of weather or traffic.

The Car Journey

We will begin the car journey when all attendees are present that will be riding in the family limousine. We will make our way to the crematorium or church at a steady and respectful pace. We can also make the journey via a pre-arranged destination such as a regular hangout of your loved one – a popular choice is one last drive down the promenade. We will then look to arrive at the church or crematorium on time for the ceremony.

The Ceremony

Once family & friends have arrived outside the crematorium or church, they will be able to see the arrival of you and your loved one. Once the hearse has moved into position, the coffin will then be moved into its position for the ceremony. This is a slow but short walk and we will ask if there are any members of the family or friends that would like to carry the coffin in – you will be instructed the best way to carry and handle the coffin if you choose to. The ceremony can then begin once everyone is seated.

After the Ceremony

After the ceremony has ended and the final music is played. You will then be prompted by us to begin a leading out of the ceremony from the back, this will create a calm and respectful way to leave. Our team members will then be stood at the exit door to offer our own condolences and be on hand if there are any questions. When everyone has left, we will look to close the doors behind and allow you to leave and move on to the other planned arrangements in your own time.
